I just wanted to inform everyone that Tom Cannon is up to his old
tricks. He has now indicated that he has no intention of resigning our
current fire department. The only reason he has given the fire
department is that he wants to go another direction. He has actually
told the department that they have done a fine job and have not done
anything wrong. Why in the world would we want to change fire
departments to a new department which may not be familiar with the area?

I would also like to mention that Mr. Cannon is currently under a
criminal investigation for allegedly misappropriating taxpayers money.
I have not yet obtained a copy of the audit report, so I only know the
hearsay details. I do know that Mr. Cannon is less than honorable.

It is my personal opinion , and only an opinion, that Mr. Cannon is not
satisfied with the current department's lack of cooperation in his shady
dealings. The fire chief is also an Indiana State Trooper who is not
likely to waiver in his duty to uphold the law.

Please call Lodeema Applegate @ 944-2720, Bob Hornung @ 948-8780, and
Tom Cannon @ 948-5499. They are on the advisory board for our township.
Mr. Cannon is unable to hire a new department without the authorization
of the board. However, he can exclude the current department in his
recommendations to the board. This means that the current department
would still be used until this dispute is resolved.

I hold our current fire department in very high regard. They have
always acted with integrity and professionalism. The fact that Mr.
Cannon wants to change our fire department every time the old
department's contract is up, only puts us at greater risk.

The next advisory board meeting is November 1st at 4:00 P.M. at the
City County Building. I have asked the advisory board to move the
meeting to a later time to accommodate those whom are unable to attend
such an early meeting. I will let everyone know if they are able to do
this.

Thank You,
Robert Headrick
