[Honews] Speeding

We continue to have a huge problem with speeding in our neighborhood.
The speeders are a mixture of adult residents, teenage residents, and
visitors. The fastest in the mix are definitely the teenagers.
Regardless of who and why, we absolutely must curb the speeding. I have
seen people approaching 50 MPH on Highland oaks Drive. Many people also
fail to stop at the stop signs. As a father, I have concerns for my
child's safety..and I live on a cul-de-sac. I really feel for those who
live on Highland Oaks Drive. We are looking into installing speed bumps
along with police patrols. We have begged and pleaded with the County
and State police to patrol, we are told that they do not have enough
officers. We are now checking if we can hire an off duty officer to
randomly patrol for speeders, wreckless drivers, and thieves. For the
speeding, we need to know the prime times that you may see people
speeding or driving carelessly. I know that the speeding goes on most
of the day, but if there is a time that you notice speeding more than
others please let us know.

We also welcome any suggestions you may have to help with this issue.

Thanks,

Robert Headrick
