Thank you everyone for the information we have been having a terrible
time with garbage pickup and plan on switching aa soon as possible. I
end up calling where they have missed our house at least once a month.
Thank you.

I endured lousy service from Rumpke from the time we moved here. I
switched to Sweetland a couple of years ago primarily because they will
also take yard waste (Rumpke refuses to). I'll never switch back.

We have been with Sweetland for about 2 years and they have been the
best garbage service ever. A couple of times we forgot to put out our
pails and they did it for us. They are very considerate and
professional.

Last summer when I received my 3rd quarterly bill I noticed that the
billed amount had increased significantly - like by 30-40%. When I
called to inquire they said that the original service agreement that
they had formed with the Highland Oaks association had expired and that
unless a majority of residents decided to use their services there would
be no further price breaks. Upon learning this I told them to cancel our
service. We switched to Sweetland (http://sweetlandltd.com/index.html)
and have not been sorry yet. Yes it was more than what I had been paying
to Rumpke, but it was NOT as much as what Rumpke was planning to bill me
starting in the 3rd quarter. And yes, I have heard people on our street
complaining about missed pickups and lack of service.

When we first started with Rumpke several years ago it seemed that they
provided much better customer service. The last year or more that we
were with them I had grown increasingly frustrated. They routinely left
the top of the can flipped back on rainy days, thus allowing it to fill
with water. They also seemed careless about where they returned the can
to in our driveway, often leaving it to block access where I had to move
the can in order to pull in.

We have been happy with Sweetland. Their workers seem more careful and
considerate. The only down side is that they pick up in our neighborhood
on Thursdays. That was the one thing I liked about Rumpke was their
Monday pickup.

Beth, I was wondering if you or any of the other neighbors have
complained about the Rumpke Garbage service, we have had problems about
four times now with them forgetting to pick up our garbage and it will
take one to three days and many phone calls to them to pick it up. Last
Monday they forgot almost all of the subd.'s garbage. When you call they
don't even care or say they are sorry. I have talked to several of the
neighbors that are having the same problem with them. Is one of the
other services better than them? Sara Dorland 4203 St Andrews
